oylo's blog: january, 2019

ahhh, the first blog post of 2019... refreshing. you'll find some slight template modifications included in this year's batch yuheeerp

this has been an exciting month to say the absolute very least... after coming out the gate strong af on our resolution / habit building game for the new year, we went to a bilal show at the atlanta city winery. super intimate seating & a dope venue, but the ticketing system fucked up, so our seats at the table were assigned opposite each other... I'm glad it was an awesome show 'cause I sure was breaking my back to see it Lol

if by chance you're keeping up with these blog posts, you may remember that I mentioned us booking a trip in last month's post...

well we flew to denver on the 27th, and got a ride down to a town called frisco, way up in the rockies. the air was so crisp, clean and dry... nothing like the humid, sewage-smog breeze of atlanta. there was a foot of snow covering everything in sight, and it seemed like christmas was year-round for the locals. most of the shops and restaurants were on the main street, which was a whole whopping one block away from our airbnb... sheesh...

we spent two days of our week-long trip on the slopes of copper mountain, just a few minutes south of where we were staying. (it was #10 on a best-places-to-ski-in-the-united-states list). we didn't even realize that breckenridge and vail, apparently some of the most famous slopes, were just minutes away. but I can really see why because the mountain we chose was absolutely gorgeous. wish I had more pictures of the views from the slopes, but most of my mountain pics are town & ground-based. Lol

to be honest, we couldn't have asked for a better trip. we did spend a little more money than we anticipated would be spent, but it's not like anyone goes on vacation to save money, so it was definitely well spent. smooth operations all around. had a breeze of a time getting to and from our flights, securing ski lift tickets and equipment, getting around town, feeding ourselves, etc. but there's no other way it could have gone

everything was perfectly planned...
